The Sagay City government expressed openness to donating a parcel of land intended for the construction of permanent headquarters of the Police Regional Office in the Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).
The proposal was discussed during a meeting between PRO-NIR Director Police Brigadier General Romano Cardiño and city officials.
PRO-NIR said the establishment of a permanent PRO-NIR headquarters is expected to strengthen operational readiness, improve inter-unit coordination, and bring police services closer to communities across the region.
Cardiño emphasized that the planned facility would serve as a strategic hub for regional policing operations, supporting both administrative efficiency and frontline law enforcement deployment.
Local officials underscored that the proposed project reflects a strengthened partnership between the city government and the national police, aimed at enhancing peace and order while supporting long-term development goals.
If realized, the regional headquarters is expected to serve as a key security investment for Negros Island, reinforcing public safety infrastructure and supporting sustained progress across communities./CCJ, WDJ
