Frustrated homicide suspect held

Police operatives arrested a 27-year-old laborer wanted for frustrated homicide during a predawn manhunt operation at Barangay Carabalan in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City yesterday.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Kim,” was apprehended at 1:15 a.m. in Sitio Cambulan by the tracker team of the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company during a Manhunt Charlie operation targeting wanted persons.

The suspect is a resident of Sitio Casipongan in the village.

No resistance was reported during the operation.

Police said the arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 56, Himamaylan City, dated April 19, 2024, for frustrated homicide.

The warrant was issued by the acting presiding judge of the Sixth Judicial Region, with bail recommended at P72,000.

The suspect is currently detained at the police station for proper disposition and the filing of necessary court processes./CJ, WDJ
