The Riverside Medical Center recently opened its wound care center, the first facility of its kind in Negros. The site provides treatment for skin disorders, breakouts, and various injuries and abrasions.
Located along BS Aquino Drive in Bacolod City, the idea came about after a hospital medical team visited a similar facility in Butuan City.
“Wound care is not simply dressing the wound,” explained Riverside Medical Center President and CEO Genesis Goldi Golingan. “One should have special training to care [for] the patient and how to do it properly.”
Ancillary Division Officer Rosario Abaring said the wound center is fully operational and is open from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. She added, the facility can accommodate around 48 patients daily.
Among the specific services provided include wound consultations, evaluations and treatment, specialty wound dressing, treatment of wound infections, cellulitis treatment, prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, among others./RS, WDJ
