After a nine-year-old boy was hospitalized last Monday morning after he was struck by a bus in San Enrique, Vallacar Transit, Inc. (VTI), parent company of the Ceres Bus Liner, announced they would pay for his medical bills.

According to a text message from VTI Legal and Media Relations Manager Jade Seballos, the company immediately got in touch with the family after learning of the incident.

Earlier, the bus, which was driven by 33-year-old Jesil Ponsica, was heading west when he struck the minor, who was crossing the road at the time of the incident.

The victim was rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto District Hospital, and later to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.

Ponsica, meanwhile, surrendered to San Enrique Municipal Police following the incident./DGB, WDJ
