Iloilo City school loses to Canadian squad

Santa Clarita International School Inc. of Iloilo City lost, 109-75, to Durham Crossover Canada in their Round of 16 game of the 2019 NBTC National Finals yesterday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Franc Steven Tono top-scored for the Iloilo City-based school with 28 points, while Jemar Cepriano and Ralph Bajon contributed 17 and 13 markers, respectively.

The Ilonggo squad opened with a strong 9-4 start following a pair of three pointers from Tono but the Canadian side slowly inched closer before taking the advantage for good by halftime.

The Canadian team further pulled away in the third period after outside shots from Garcia and Casilla, widening their advantage, and leading by as much as 34 points in the fourth quarter./ASC, WDJ
