Ceres loses on penalties

The Ceres-Negros FC youth squad failed to continue the momentum of their first win in the 3rd Philam Life 7s Football League and lost 4-3 on penalties to Matu Deportivo at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig City.

After the two clubs ended their faceoff with a 1-1 draw, the match proceeded to penalty kicks, where Matu Deportivo emerged victorious.

Matu Deportivo player-coach Chris Johnson said the team struggled as team captain Nico Bolzico is out with an injury.

“Not having him around because of injury is a big blow to us,” he said. “However, when we can still get out of our comfort zone and win, I think it’s going to be good momentum moving forward.”/ASC, WDJ
