Two residential fires reported yesterday marked the first day of Fire Prevention Month in Bacolod City.

The first incident occurred in Barangay Banago, where a home owned by 39-year-old Lolita Cabante caught on fire. The Bacolod City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Bacolod) immediately responded to the incident and doused the flames within minutes.

Cabante’s house suffered extensive damage.

The second incident, meanwhile, took place in the city’s Barangay Taculing in a shanty owned by the De Vera family.

BFP-Bacolod responded to the incident; however, the house was completely gutted.

No one was injured in either incidents and arson investigators are now conducting an investigation into cause of both fires./DGB, WDJ
