At least six people are confirmed dead, while nine others were seriously injured, after a van collided with a truck head-on yesterday morning in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental.

Police identified the fatalities as Cherry Rose Kadusale, Cherry Ann Kadusale, Joshua Busmeon, Kevin Aguilar, and Christian Buenconsejo.

The sixth victim, a female, has yet to be identified.

Zamboanguita municipal police traffic investigators said the van, which had 10 high school students, a teacher, and four other passengers aboard were heading towards Basay when they collided with a sugarcane truck.

The victims were rushed to the Silliman University Medical Center following the incident.
