Over 95% PhilHealth enrollment in the Western Visayas

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) yesterday reported a 95.25 percent enrolment in the Western Visayas.
During the agency’s “Media Pasalamat” event at the L’Fisher Hotel, the number of enrolled members in the region is 7,426,010.
They pointed out, 43 percent are indigent, or those living below the poverty line; 23 percent are in the formal sector; and 20 are in the informal sector.
Negros Occidental currently has the highest number of memberships with 1,520,478, while Iloilo is second at 1,255,718.
Meanwhile, the top medical claims made by PhilHealth members involved treatment for moderate risk pneumonia, along with acute gastroenteritis.
