The Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) recently revealed resort destination Boracay, located in Malay, Aklan, is expected to receive six cruise ship visits throughout January, with the MS Star Legend making its maiden call, or first visit to the port, on Monday, January 15.

Meanwhile, the MS Chinese Taishan is expected to visit on January 17, 22, and 27; while the MS World Dream is scheduled for January 24 and 31.

“Hosting cruise ships here will make it more popular among international tourists,” said DOT-6 director, Atty. Helen Catalbas.

Boracay is expecting a total 18 visits this year./WDJ
