A motorcyclist was killed, while his rider was seriously injured, after they collided with another motorcycle at Purok Estiwetis in Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

The fatality was identified as 55-year-old Cading Barrios, while 13-year-old Anjonei Barrios sustained physical injuries.

Initial investigations by Don Salvador Benedicto traffic investigators revealed the motorcycle that struck the victims on a descending part of the road was being operated by a 16-year-old.

Authorities also said the minor’s motorcycle, who police refused to identify, had no headlight.

The victims were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, but the elder Barrios was declared dead.

The suspect, meanwhile, was brought to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Don Salvador Benedicto Municipal Police Station./NC, WDJ
