Maylynn Aguirre-Graf, a town councilor for Malay, Aklan, where beach resort Boracay is located, announced plans to set up a Facebook account in order for the public to voice complaints against abusive tricycle and e-tricycle operators.

The municipal official said she had received numerous complaints over the holiday season regarding the matter.

“To put an end to the abuses of erring drivers, we must all cooperate,” she said. “All they have to do is to note or photograph the body number of the driver that can be seen on their uniform, in their motorcycle, and their plate number.”

She also noted to mark down the plate number for colorum, or unlicensed, operators.

Last year, the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office announced 61 tricycles had been impounded after they were found to be operating either without a business permit or driver’s license./PLL/WDJ
