Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya inaugurated two new school buildings earlier this week, costing nearly P50 million in total.
In the morning, a four-story, 20-classroom building at Emiliano Lizares National High School in Barangay Granada was inaugurated. That afternoon, a three-story, nine-classroom building at Luis Hervias National High School in Barangay Villamonte received a similar reception.
“We’re happy that it is finally ready,” said the mayor. “Let us put these into good use.”
He added, under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, the city will witness the “golden age of infrastructure.”
Gasataya noted they are currently working on P51 million worth of additional school buildings, laboratories, and workshops for the city.
Also in attendance were Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, City Councilor Renecito Novero, Department of Education-Bacolod (DepEd-Bacolod) Schools Division Superintendent Cynthia Demavivas, among others./WDJ
