The Valenzuela Darkhorse strengthened its position in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2026 Season after defeating Bacolod Masskara, 92-80, at the Paco Arena on Monday night, June 15.

The victory improved Valenzuela’s record to 7-6, allowing the Darkhorse to move into the upper half of the league standings.

Bacolod, meanwhile, fell to 3-12.

Veteran Jay Collado led the way for Valenzuela with 24 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

His all-around performance earned him Best Player of the Game honors.

Shaquille Alanes also made a significant contribution with 19 points, six assists and two rebounds.

JR Olegario added 15 points, four assists and two rebounds.

Carl Joshua Alattica chipped in 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

Angelo Obuyes finished with 12 points as the Darkhorse secured the win.

For Bacolod, Rafael Go provided most of the offensive firepower, finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists.

However, he received little support as Masskara absorbed their 12th loss in 15 games./ASC, WDJ
