An 18-year-old motorcycle rider died on Saturday night, June 13, a day after he figured in a road crash along the Provincial Road at Barangay Minoyan in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town.

The fatality was identified only by the alias “Benny,” while two other individuals involved in the incident, identified as alias “Marco” and his back rider alias “Aljo,” both residents of the same barangay, sustained injuries.

Initial police investigation said “Benny” was driving his motorcycle from Purok 5 toward Purok 1 in Barangay Minoyan when his vehicle allegedly collided head-on with an oncoming motorcycle driven by “Marco.”

All three victims were immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.

However, “Benny” succumbed to his injuries after nearly a day of confinement.

Police said one of the two surviving victims remains in critical condition, while the condition of the other injured individual has yet to be disclosed./CCJ, WDJ
