Two male teenagers were injured after they were allegedly stabbed by an unidentified man during a drinking session following a sitio fiesta celebration at Barangay Magallon Cadre in Negros Occidental’s Moises Padilla town early Wednesday morning, June 11.
The incident occurred at 3:25 a.m. in Sitio Takasan.
The victims were identified as a 17-year-old resident of Sitio Loblob in the village, and an 18-year-old from Hacienda Gorgonia in Barangay Quintin Remo.
Based on investigation, the victims were reportedly having a drinking session at the barangay plaza in line with the sitio fiesta celebration before proceeding to a nearby sari-sari store to purchase liquor.
While in the area, they were allegedly approached by an unidentified male suspect who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
A heated argument ensued, after which the suspect allegedly attacked the victims using a fighting cock gaff before fleeing towards an unknown direction.
The 17-year-old victim sustained stab wounds on the right chest and left hand, while the 18-year-old suffered a stab wound on the left leg and bruises on the right arm.
Both victims were immediately brought by personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital for medical treatment.
Police launched a pursuit operation to locate and arrest the suspect, who remains at large as of this writing./CCJ, WDJ
