A 45-year-old man was shot dead in Bacolod City’s Barangay 30 late Wednesday evening, February 25.
The victim, Harold Barrios, a resident of Park Bagong Buhay in the village, was found with a gunshot wound to the neck on Verbena Street at 10:45 p.m.
Police said Barrios was loading corn on a tricycle when he was suddenly shot in the neck by an individual onboard a motorcycle.
Residents near the crime scene reportedly heard a single gunshot before discovering the victim.
Barrios was immediately brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
During the investigation, authorities recovered one empty shell, one deformed slug and a kitchen knife.
The suspects remain unidentified.
