The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) formally ushered in a new chapter of leadership as Colonel Eugene Rebadomia officially assumed the post of BCPO officer-in-charge, succeeding Colonel Joeresty Coronica during the turnover of command ceremony held at the BCPO Gym in Barangay Singcang-Airport yesterday.
The event, led by Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) Director Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay, was attended by Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya, National Police Commission – NIR Director Owen de Luna, BCPO Command Group members, and other key personnel.
Earlier, Gasataya confirmed the designation of Rebadomia as the incoming BCPO director, replacing Coronica, whose tenure was noted for strengthening community partnerships, enhancing law enforcement initiatives, and promoting public safety across the city.
Meanwhile, Ibay praised the outgoing director for his “dedicated leadership, discipline and operational effectiveness” while emphasizing the responsibility that comes with the role for Rebadomia.
“Let this transition remind us that while leadership changes, our mission remains the same: to serve the people, uphold the rule of law, anchored in the Chief PNP’s mantra: ‘Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,’” Ibay said.
Gasataya highlighted the local government’s continued support for the police in ensuring peace and order, reaffirming the importance of collaboration with police in addressing crime and public safety concerns./CJ, WDJ
