The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers reaffirmed their dominance in women’s volleyball after sweeping the University of the East (UE) Red Lady Warriors, 25-12, 25-14, 25-14, to rule the Unigames 2025 women’s volleyball in Negros Occidental’s Silay City on Thursday, October 30.
Negrense Angel Anne Canino led the Lady Spikers’ charge with a stellar performance that earned her the Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter awards.
Ilongga Amie Provido and Shevana Laput, on the other hand, bagged the Best Middle Blocker and Best Opposite Spiker citation, respectively, for the Lady Spikers.
Canino, a mainstay of Alas Pilipinas women’s volleyball team, expressed her gratitude to the organizers and supporters of the annual collegiate meet.
“Sa tanan na nag-organize, salamat sa pag-imbita sa amon ulit. Maraming salamat sa warm welcome sa amon,” Canino said in an interview with Unigames Media.
The win adds another feather to DLSU’s storied volleyball program, with the Lady Spikers showing cohesion and confidence throughout the tournament.
Ateneo de Davao University claimed the bronze medal after defeating the University of San Agustin in the battle-for-third place game.
Meanwhile, reigning UAAP men’s volleyball champions National University Bulldogs secured the men’s division title after defeating the Adamson University Falcons, 25-21, 25-18, 25-21.
The UE Red Warriors placed third in the men’s division following a 25-14, 25-21, 25-19 victory over Iloilo Doctors’ College./ASC, WDJ
