The Bacolod Tubo Slashers absorbed another tough defeat in the 2025 MPBL Season, falling to the Gensan Warriors, 104-71, at Paco Arena in Manila over the weekend.
The loss dropped the Tubo Slashers to 3-20, with only homegrowns Mart James Barrera and Mark Ray Dubouzet providing resistance by scoring 21 and 20 points, respectively.
On the other hand, Gensan climbed to 14-9 behind South Division leader Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters as six Warriors scored in double figures.
Mark Cruz led with 23 points and six rebounds.
Felix Apreku tallied a double-double of 10 points and 24 rebounds on top of four assists and two steals.
Nico Elorde added 13 points and seven assists.
Jeemwell Cosip and Chris Masaglang chipped in 12 points each.
Rene Pacquiao also contributed 10 points.
However, he was thrown out early after committing a disqualifying foul for elbowing Bacolod’s Miles Canal in the second quarter.
The cousin of MPBL founder and eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao became the second Gensan player in less than a week to be ejected, following Michole Sorela’s lifetime ban./ASC, WDJ
