The Buglas Futbol Girls Under-15 team settled for a runner-up finish in the 33rd Kanga Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament at Southwells Park, Canberra, Australia on Sunday, July 20.

The Negros Island Region (NIR)-based squad fell short of achieving a championship in the week-long competition as they bowed to the Rouse Hill Rams Soccer Club in the gold medal round.

Despite not reaching their goals, it was still an impressive run for Buglas Futbol as they concluded the elimination round with a perfect 3-0-0 record and also won their semis game.

The Buglas Filipinas Girls Under-15 felt at home in Canberra because of the Filipino community that has welcomed them, including the Philippine Embassy in Canberra, Kababaihang Rizalista Inc., Philippine Australian Association, Filipino Advocates for Change and Transparency, ACT Filipino Australia – Socio-Cultural Association, Canberra Pinoy Advocacy Group, Filipino Language School of Canberra, Philippine Cultural Society, Canberra Filipino Mason, DBZ Education and Migration Services, LBC Express Canberra, Digital Links – Digital Marketing, Lolo and Lola Pinoy Catering, SBS Filipino Australia, and Win News Canberra./ASC, WDJ
