The Bacolod City Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) said old persons with disability identification cards (PWD IDs) will no longer be accepted after April 30.
DSSD head Alma Gustilo said there will be no more extension of renewal as PWDs have been given enough time to process their new IDs equipped with quick response codes.
She said the DSSD still accepts applications for PWD ID renewal at the Bacolod Express Service Office and the Government Service Express from Monday to Sunday.
Gustilo said they are yet to determine the initial number of the newly-issued PWD IDs.
The recalling of the PWD IDs was based on Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez’s directive last February 5 of this year.
It was part of the city government’s program to secure and streamline the processing of PWD IDs, Benitez said in his order.
“It is essential to ensure data security, complying with updated regulations, addressing other relevant concerns regarding PWD cards, including the indiscriminate issuance of PWD IDs which has come to my knowledge,” he said./MS, WDJ
