Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson emphasized the importance of digital transformation and the role it plays in shaping the future of cooperatives, during the Capitol Government Employees Community Multi-purpose Cooperative’s (CAPGEM) 33rd annual general assembly in Bacolod City.
Lacson highlighted how digitalization has brought about significant changes in work habits, purchasing behaviors, and community participation.
The assembly reflects CAPGEM’s aim to be more responsive and adaptive to changing times.
“The theme is guiding the membership toward innovation in the digital age as a means to achieve the cooperative’s objectives,” he said.
The digital transformation accelerates growth by providing new opportunities for conducting business, sharing information and engaging with people.
As a growing cooperative, CAPGEM must effectively navigate and capitalize on the positive effects of digitalization to achieve its objectives.
The governor also acknowledged the new set of officers as the key instruments in the cooperative./JB, WDJ
