Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Benitez brought home some “presents” for Bacolodnons, securing several Chinese investments which could generate jobs and income for the city.
According to Benitez, Chinese investors are very eager to set up shop in the Philippines, particularly in the city.
One investor is even planning to set up a manufacturing facility for electric vehicles, which can ultimately generate more income as well as more jobs for the city’s residents.
Another company is also willing to invest in the city’s infrastructure projects by constructing coastal roadways and bridges, he said.
The mayor is trying to find a way for the city to export its goods, especially farm produce that the Chinese can enjoy, at the same time, increasing the income of local farmers.
Benitez traveled last week to the People’s Republic of China as part of the delegation led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr./DGB, WDJ
