“Sugar and Smiles: The Negrense Legacy Beyond 2020” features the watercolor chapter illustrations of local artisan Ebdon Sevilleno, while “Tagpi-Tagpi: Art Stories of Resiliency” is a collaboration exhibit of Tiano Beto, Maymay Camarines, Obee Canlas, Vicky Gasper, Ryn Paul Gonzales, Ramon delos Santos, and Svet and Tey Sevilleno.

Handmade paper, coffee and muscovado paintings, mosaics, terra cotta sculptures and canvas bags were turned into masterpieces by the artists and centered on the theme, “Connecting Today and Tomorrow.”

“This is one of the many reasons why SM is successful because they go beyond the four corners of the mall; they see everything that is happening around them and they continue to build a future together with people and nature,” said Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who was invited as special guest together with Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Lacson.

Joining them were SM Prime Holdings’ vice president for Operations Michelle Llanos, SM City Bacolod mall manager Anthony Jardiolin and Provincial Science and Technology director Allan Dara-ug representing DOST.

The exhibits will run until March 20, 2022./WDJ
