The 79th Infantry “Masaligan” Battalion of the Philippine Army, 3rd Infantry Division, joined the family of the late Private First Class Christopher Alada as he was laid to rest in a public cemetery in Badiangan, Iloilo on September 11, 2021.

Alada, a resident of Barangay Indorohan, Badiangan, paid the ultimate sacrifice during an armed encounter between the troops of 79IB and Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Barangay Kapitan Ramon in Silay City, Negros Occidental last August 20.
A gun salute was also held at his burial and the Philippine flag was also given to his wife, Kaye, in honor of his committed and dedicated service to the Philippine Army and the country.
“We condole with the family of the late PFC Alada. On behalf of 79IB and the whole Philippine Army, we salute you for your patriotism and heroism. Rest assured that your sacrifices will never be put in vain as we vow to be more relentless in our effort to end the local armed conflict in Northern Negros,” said Lieutenant Colonel J-jay T Javines, commanding officer of 79IB./WDJ
