A 40-year-old laborer was stabbed to death at Purok 4, Barangay Libacao in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental around 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, July 11.
Roberto Cagayan, a resident of the village’s Sitio Balisong, sustained a stab wound on his left chest. He was brought to the Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in the city but the attending physician pronounced him dead-on-arrival.
Himamaylan City police, meanwhile, identified the suspect as 53-year-old Vicente Ambata, also of Barangay Libacao.
Police investigation revealed that the suspect was reportedly having a drinking binge with his friends when the victim arrived. The two later had an argument which led to stabbing.
Officers of the Himamaylan City Police Station launched a manhunt operation against the suspect, who fled after the incident./WDJ
