Vo-tech assembly, assessors event held in Bacolod City

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Negros Occidental (TESDA-Negros Occidental) and Association of Technical Institutions of Negros Occidental (ATINO) held a calibration for assessors event last week at the Planta Centro Bacolod Hotel. The event, which saw approximately 144 participants, sought to update assessors, assessment center managers, and processing officers for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
The event included a discussion of Memorandum No. 005 series 2020, issued by TESDA Director-General Isidro Lapeña earlier this year, which focused on assessment management conduct, review of the affidavit of undertaking and desirable work values, and a renewal of commitments.
In addition, TESDA Regional Competency Assessment and Certification focal person Paula Jumeras and TESDA-Negros Occidental Competency Assessment and Certification focal person Jason Gerona served as speakers, while Acting Provincial Director Beverly Insular also discussed directives issued by the director-general.
Meanwhile, ATINO also elected a new set of officers. Dr. Ma. Cristina B. Orbecido of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center was named president, Dr. Carlitos N. Orola of VMA Global College and Training Centers Inc. was elected executive vice president, Atty. Pauline T. Nuega of the Power Foundation Inc. – vice president (central), Bryanne Marie M. Abriola of the Technological Foundation Institute – vice president (south), Emmanuel V. Palencia of La Salle College-Victorias Inc. – vice president (north), Dr. Nena P. Samillano of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Inc. – secretary, Melanie G. Torres of MDM-Sagay College – treasurer, Theresa T. Villanueva of Bacolod City College – auditor, and Juanito M. Tupaz, Jr. of Northern Summit Technical Institute Inc. – public information officer. (PR)
