A senior citizen was hacked dead by a man around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Purok 9 in Hinoba-an town’s Barangay Asia.

Police identified the fatality as Vivincio Carsido Responte, 60, married, of the town’s Barangay Alim. He was found at the middle of the road with hack wounds at the back of his neck, throat, and chest.

Suspect Arnel Alacala Walog, 30, single of Barangay Asia, was arrested by village watchmen led by Elias Manlangit and turned over to the municipality’s police station.

He was caught washing his bloodstained hands at the crime scene and is believed to be under the influence of liquor.

He is detained at Hinoba-an PNP and put under investigation./WDJ
