Japanese firms propose organic crop production project in Negros Occidental

Japanese firms Mitsunobu Nouen Co. Ltd., Atgreen Co. Ltd., and Tominaga, L. Nature Inc. recently presented their “Baby Leaf Project” to Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Provincial Capitol. The project seeks to develop organic high-value commercial crop production in the province, starting with the production of baby leaf.
The potential investors affirmed the project would come at no cost to the local government while providing various farming technology.
They added, the project will require manpower in order to set up a model farm.
The governor called it a “huge opportunity for the local farmers.”
Also present for the presentation were Provincial Planning and Development Office head, Dr. Marlin Sanogal; Provincial agriculturist, Atty. Japhet Masculino; Negros Island Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development head Boyet Uychiat; Provincial Tourism Officer Tin Mansinares; among others./WDJ
