TNT KaTropa leaned on outside shooting to pull off a 115-97 win over Blackwater Elite in the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Terrence Jones earned triple-double for TNT with 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 14 assists; while Jeth Troy Rosario added 14 markers; and Roger Pogoy and Brian Heruela each contributed 12.
Holding to a slim 25-23 edge, KaTropa went on a run in the second period behind hits from Jones, Rosario, and Celedonio Trollano for a 57-34 lead. The Elite then went on a run early in the third and narrowed the deficit to 61-52; however, KaTropa retaliated with a run behind Jones and Castro, which saw their lead grow to its widest at 27 points.
With a 9-1 record, KaTropa has secured a twice-to-beat incentive in the quarterfinals./ASC, WDJ
