The Petron Blaze Spikers came back from two set down to score a 22-25, 16-25, 25-16, 25-17, 15-10 win over the Foton Tornadoes Blue Energy earlier this week in the 2019 Philippine SuperLiga All-Filipino Conference at the San Juan Arena.
Frances Molina top-scored for Petron with 20 points on 15 attacks, four service aces, and a block; while Cherry Rondina and Mary Remy Palma each added 14 markers.
Facing a two-set deficit, Petron opened the third set with an 8-3 lead, which later grew to 16-8, and kept their hopes alive.
Petron made a similar start in the following set, building a 23-17 lead before Mika Reyes came up with back-to-back hits to force a fifth set.
In the fifth set, Petron opened with an 8-4 lead before Foton pulled to within 10-9. Rondina then carried the fight for Petron with three points before Reyes and Molina ended the match with back-to-back hits.
