Ten-year-old Kate Decerie Orig of Sagay City’s Barangay Poblacion was recently crowned Little Lin-ay sang Sagay at the Sagay City gymnasium, an event of the recently-held Sagay City Charter Day observance. She was awarded a crown, trophy, and P6,000 in cash.
In addition to the grand prize, she also won Best Production Number, Best in White Attire, Best in Doll Look, and the People’s Choice.
Meanwhile, 12-year-old Shaney Ann Uy of Barangay Poblacion 2 was named first princess and took home P5,000; and 11-year-old Charmiel Dianne Geronimo of Barnagay Andres Bonifacio won second princess, winning P4,000.
According to Sinigayan Choreographers and Designers Association Vice President Archel Lacre, the pageant seeks to provide a venue for young girls to present their skills; along with offer an opportunity to teach, advocate, and promote ecologically-friendly practices./WDJ
