Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) officer-in-charge, Police Colonel Henry Biñas, assured Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia they will secure the newly-inaugurated Bacolod Esplanade 24-hours-a-day to prevent cases of vandalism and other crimes.
The BCPO official said a total eight police officers will be assigned to the esplanade.
Prior to the inauguration, a cleaning operation was conducted after unidentified individuals vandalized the fixture located near the Bacolod City Government Center.
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia called it a “wake up call,” while outgoing Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito called for charges against the individuals involved in the incident.
