Following a social media post, published by a user that goes by the name “Sun Tzu,” claiming Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. criticized incumbent Bacolod City lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya for allegedly owning a rest house worth P10 million, the governor responded by calling it “utterly ridiculous” and “preposterous.”

“I vehemently deny I ever said what was written in the caption,” he said in a statement. “I will not take this sitting down if you continue this habit of yours – spreading lies, half-truths, and fake news.”

The governor’s statement also suggests the user behind the account is a “broadcaster for a church-based radio station.”
