High-value drug target nabbed at Bacolod City checkpoint

A man listed as a high-value drug target was arrested late Thursday night at a checkpoint manned by Police Station 2 (PS2) at Barangay 9 in Bacolod City.

Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Apollo Mendoza, a resident of Purok Cagaycay in the city’s Barangay 2.

PS2 commander, Police Captain Leo Estopa, said they were conducting a Commission on Elections checkpoint in the area when they flagged down Mendoza, who was operating his motorcycle.

Upon searching the suspect and his vehicle, they recovered at least seven sachets of suspected shabu.

Police immediately arrested Mendoza on the spot.

Estopa said the total weight of the seized illegal drugs was two grams and valued at P24,000.
