Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently congratulated the 276 Bacolodnon student-athletes that earned medals at the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet, which took place last month in Roxas City, Capiz.

“Congratulations to all of you,” he said during a courtesy call at the Bacolod City Government Center. “We are very proud of all of you.”

“If we all have young people like you, we can look [to] the future,” the mayor added.

According to the Department of Education-Division of Bacolod City, Bacolod City athletes earned 24 gold, 23 silver, and 13 bronze medals in individuals events; along with 50 gold, 64 silver, and 51 bronze medals in team events./WDJ
