A nine-year-old boy was hospitalized last Monday morning after he was struck by a bus at Crossing Sibucao in San Enrique, Negros Occidental.

Police refused to name the victim, but confirmed he is a resident of the town’s Barangay Sibucao.

San Enrique Municipal Police Station traffic investigators said the bus, which was driven by 33-year-old Jesil Ponsica, was heading west when he struck the minor, who was crossing the road at the time of the incident.

The victim was rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto District Hospital, and later to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.

Ponsica, meanwhile, surrendered to San Enrique Municipal Police following the incident./DGB, WDJ
