Kaya FC plays Home United today at the Panaad

After opening their 2019 AFC Cup group stage with a 1-1 draw against Lao Toyota FC, Kaya FC-Iloilo next meets Singapore’s Home United this afternoon at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City. After the Iloilo Sports Complex in Iloilo City’s La Paz district was not approved by the AFC, the Bacolod City venue agreed to host the Iloilo City-based club’s home games in the international competition.
Kaya FC head coach Noel Marcaida plans on learning from mistakes made in their previous match.
“We were unlucky not to get all three points,” he said. “We played well in the first half – we were able to control things – but we didn’t play so well in the second.”
“We’re prepared for what’s necessary,” Marcaida added. “We will see on the pitch how it plays out [and] if those plans work in our favor, we’ll have a positive result.”
The coach also hopes Bacolod City supporters will come out for the match.
“We are hopeful that the Bacolodnon fans will come out in Panaad to support us,” he said. “It will be a great boost for us.”/ASC, WDJ
