In response to Atty. Sahlee Gail Lobaton filing multiple falsification charges against Task Force Kasanag (TFK) national commander John Chiong and a journalist surrounding a petition seeking the suspension of Moises Padilla Mayor Magdaleno Peña, the TFK official yesterday filed a disbarment case against the attorney alleging violations of the Canons of Professional Ethics along with malicious prosecution accusations.

The case was presented before the Office of the Bar Confidant through Supreme Court administrator Midas Marquez.

In a letter furnished to reporters, Chiong accused Lobaton of harassment and is seeking disciplinary action.

The case brought forward by Lobaton claims, after Moises Padilla residents took issue with the said petition, signatures on the document in question were believed to be falsified.

The petition had earlier been submitted to the Department of Interior and Local Government, characterizing Peña as an “absentee mayor.”

Chiong and the journalist deny the charges./DGB, WDJ
