Task Force Kasanag (TFK) is calling for President Rodrigo Duterte to ensure a fair and just investigation into the allegations lodged against ousted Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, who the president accused of having links to illegal drugs.

TFK National Commander John Chiong told reporters he was “shocked” at the president’s revelations and said it was “disheartening” that Ebreo was “put to shame right there and then” without the benefit of due process.

The former BCPO chief was accused alongside four other Bacolod City police officers.

Chiong appealed, “Like any other individual Ebreo is also human,” pointing out, “Ebreo has a family [and] children of his own; surely they will be affected.”

“I witnessed the performance of Ebreo as BCPO director,” the TFK official asserted. “There [have been] positive changes in the city like preventing crime, buy-bust operations on illegal drugs, [and] transforming police officials in terms of operations.”

He went on to liken the accusations to “a form of destroying his career.”/DGB, WDJ
