A 30-year-old man was killed over the weekend after being shot by a still-unidentified gunman in Barangay Puey, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as Eleazar Grandoci, a resident of Purok Manara in the said barangay.

Based on a statement provided by the victim’s sibling to Sagay City police, Grandoci was returning home from neighboring Barangay Dian-ay when he was shot by the gunman.

The suspect immediately fled, while Grandoci immediately succumbed to a gunshot wound in the stomach.

Sagay City police are still investigating the motive into the murder as well as the identity of the assailant./DGB, WDJ
