LDS Charities donates sewing machines to Alangilan high school

LDS Charities, the humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, turned over 25 sewing machines, along with dressmaking materials, to Alangilan National High School during a ceremony last week.

Jim and Linda Whitmore, Remus and Yvonne Villarete, and Jairus Perez of LDS Charities were joined in the turnover by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

The materials, which cost a total of P452,000, will be used by junior high dressmaking students.

Meanwhile, after the event, the mayor also signed a memorandum of agreement with LDS Charities, Barangay Alangilan, and advocacy group A Single Drop for Safe Water Inc. to improve the water system in the barangay./WDJ
