Senate Majority Floor Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri yesterday said the construction of the P163 million Bacolod Museum and Auditorium is expected to start by the first quarter of 2019.
“The museum is targeted to be finished in, more or less, two years,” the senator noted.
Zubiri led the presentation of the architectural design and perspective alongside various members of the Bacolod City government, including Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran.
He said the structure was “not a traditional museum” and would become “iconic and historic.”
Zubiri said the museum and auditorium is the first of many projects he has planned for the city, calling it his way of “giving back” to Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.
The senator pointed out, the city government’s role will be to provide 5,000 square meters of land for the structure. In response, Familiaran said a location will be announced next week, October 22./DGB, WDJ
