Second Sipalay City tremor recorded
A minor 2.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded just west of Bugasong, Antique yesterday morning.
A Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) bulletin reported no damage recorded as a result of the incident, along with no anticipated aftershocks.
Earthquakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli intensity scale, where very few even feel the tremor.
Last month, a 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck east of Valderrama, Antique. The following morning, the town was subject to a smaller 2.5-magnitude tremor.
Meanwhile, after a 2.3-magnitude quake was recorded near Sipalay City last Monday afternoon, Phivolcs reported a second tremor that evening. Just after 10:00 p.m., a 2.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded west of the city./WDJ
