Provincial Human Resource Management head, Atty. Annabelle Palic, recently confirmed all 692 Bacolod City-based provincial government employees have completed drug testing. She noted, drug testing is still pending for those based outside the city, particularly those working at district hospitals.
The provincial official noted, drug testing still needs to be conducted for over 2,000 employees.
She added, results for the completed tests have yet to be released.
“There are no results yet,” Palic affirmed, adding, they may be out within the week.
Palic noted, drug testing is now required of all provincial government employees.
“For new hires, it is a requirement upon entry,” she explained. “For existing employees there is a mandatory drug testing.”
The human resources official said, if an employee tests positive, they will undergo confirmatory tests, along with counseling and rehabilitation.
“If they [commit violations] during rehab, they will be charged with grave misconduct with penalty of dismissal,” Palic stated./DGB, WDJ
