A 2.2-magnitude quake was recorded Monday night with an epicenter pinpointed just east of Buenavista, Guimaras.
According to a bulletin from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), no damage was recorded due to the tremor nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Earthquakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli intensity scale, where very few even feel the tremor.
Guimaras was struck by four minor quakes last month, ranging between 1.6 and 2.4 in magnitude. Two tremors in particular, measuring 2.4 and 2.1 in magnitude, occurred within 25 minutes of each other.
Most recently, Phivolcs recorded a 2.9-magnitude quake east of Sipalay City early Saturday morning./WDJ
