A misunderstanding over a mobile phone transaction led to a stabbing incident late Monday evening at the corner of Luzuriaga and Bonifacio Streets in Barangay 12, Bacolod City.
Police identified the victim as 30-year-old Rey Buenafe, a resident of Purok Kingfisher in Barangay 16 of the said city.
Police Station 1 investigators said Buenafe was allegedly stabbed by a suspect, identified only by the alias ‘Tangoy,’ after the two quarreled over a mobile phone transaction.
Buenafe sustained a stab wound to the head and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.
The suspect, meanwhile, fled after the incident and is currently being sought by police./DGB, WDJ
