HB 8140, which seeks to open a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) provincial office in Negros Occidental, recently passed the House of Representatives unanimously on its third and final reading.

“It’s turning out to be a good week for me,” said Bacolod City lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya, who was the primary sponsor of the bill.

With the Region 6 office located in Iloilo City, if passed into law, the bill is expected to make it easier for Negros Occidental residents who wish to conduct transactions with CHED./DGB, WDJ
