SM City Bacolod, in partnership with the Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation, Inc. (PRRCFI), invites local residents to participate in SWEEPWalk today, July 7, which takes place from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., starting at the corner of 21st and Lacson Streets until the SM City Bacolod north wing. The total distance measures around three kilometers.
The “SWEEP” in SWEEPWalk stands for “Sea Waste Education to Eradicate Plastic,” which seeks to reduce the amount of plastic in the environment.
“We want to engage more people in Bacolod to be aware of our solid waste management and to act and reduce the flow of plastic to the ocean,” said PRRFCI Executive Director Dave Albao. “We are coming together to face our shared challenges.”
In order to join, visit the SWEEPWalk! Bacolod event on Facebook or visit the PRRFCI-SWEEP page @sweep.ph to register.
